There wasn't a lot of love for area teams in the latest state baseball poll.
The Fatima Comets and Tipton Cardinals are the only area teams to appear in their respective Top 10s in the newest poll from the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association.
Fatima is tied for seventh in Class 3, while Tipton is third in Class 2.
The only other area teams even receiving votes are the Helias Crusaders in Class 5 and the Linn Wildcats in Class 2.
Helias and Fatima will be in action this weekend at the Capital City Invitational in Jefferson City.
Fatima will take on Hickman at noon at the American Legion Sports Complex in Friday's first round.
Rockhurst, ranked third in Class 5, opens tournament play against Blair Oaks at 2:30 p.m. at Vivion Field.
Other first-round games include Eureka against Jefferson City at noon at Vivion Field, and Helias against Blue Springs at 2:30 p.m. at the American Legion Sports Complex.
