Your Opinion: UN observers at US elections?

Dear Editor:

First Pakistan, our good ally, stood in front of (also our good friend) the UN assembly and proposed that the UN pass a resolution that would supersede our Constitution to forbid freedom of speech when referring to prophet Mohamed.

Where is the outrage from our sitting president and the administration?

For that matter, one would think the press/media would be outraged over this censorship. Not a word from either.

Now I read in the Sept. 26 News Tribune that the NAACP is going in front of the UN to send observers to the U.S. for this year's elections.

I can not wait to go vote and see the blue helmets watching the voting booths. The reason for the request for blue helmets is so felons can vote. Where is the outrage from the Democratic administration?

Hilary Shelton, a NAACP vice president says "you're seeing two candidates who are going back and forth with slim leads between each other. A voting bloc like those who are formerly incarcerated - like racial and ethnic minorities - can make a tremendous difference." Now why would you want to be elected by convicted prior felons and be proud of the outcome? Just what kind of people are the Democrats and the NAACP?

It is bad enough that we allow 18-year-old college students to vote and determine the fate of the country. Military 18-year-old men and women on active duty have earned the right to vote. Now the NAACP wants convicted felons and the UN to decide the fate of this country.

Gosh what can possibly go wrong?

Lets get the UN out of the US!
