NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Dolly Parton says she will no longer be involved in a planned water and snow park in Nashville.
Parton first announced plans for the park in January. It was to be a partnership with Gaylord Entertainment, which owns the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center and the Grand Ole Opry country music show in Nashville.
Parton's withdrawal from the project comes after Gaylord shareholders voted on Tuesday to reorganize the company as a real estate investment trust and turn over management of its four resort properties to Marriot International Inc.
In a statement released on Friday, Parton said, "Gaylord makes decisions that they feel are good for their company and their stockholders and I have to make decisions based on what is best for me and the Dollywood Company."
