Tyler Perry cancels Arkansas appearance

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Entertainer Tyler Perry has canceled an Arkansas appearance that had been scheduled for Sept. 30.

North Little Rock's Verizon Arena sent out a news release Monday saying the show was called off. The venue attached a statement from Perry that says he's being forced to cancel a leg of his tour because he's having too many problems with scalpers and bootleggers.

Perry says he priced tickets starting at $25 so people could afford to see his show, "Madea Gets a Job."

But Perry says people have been selling passes to nonexistent meet-and-greet sessions and scalping tickets at many times their face value.

Perry apologized to fans who made plans to attend the show but says his hands are tied.
