The Callaway County Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan was adopted Thursday by the New Bloomfield Board of Aldermen as the city's official plan.
First Ward Alderman Paul Hilchen, who is the mayor pro tem, told the aldermen he had reviewed the county's extensive plan.
He recommended the city adopt the plan, which carries no significant financial commitment by the city.
"This plan addresses dangers posed by wind, fire, hail, sleet and earthquakes, and we are subject to all of these potential hazards," Hilchen said.
The Callaway County Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan is a multi-jurisdictional hazard mitigation plan prepared in accordance with Federal Emergency Management Agency requirements.
