Former Tiger Derrick Washington back on field

COLUMBIA (AP) - A former Missouri running back and team captain who served 120 days in prison for felony sex assault is back on the field at Division II Tuskegee University in Alabama.

The Montgomery (Ala.) Advertiser reported Derrick Washington is a starting tailback at the historically black college. He rushed for 155 yards and two touchdowns in the team's most recent game, a 35-17 win over Johnson C. Smith in Atlanta.

Washington was convicted in 2011 of deviate sexual assault involving a former University of Missouri athletics tutor. He was sentenced to five years in prison but released after completing a 120-day "shock incarceration" program for first-time offenders.

He later pleaded guilty to misdemeanor domestic assault against an ex-girlfriend but did not have to serve additional time.
