MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Taj McWilliams-Franklin made a 15-footer and a pair of key defensive plays in the final minute of the second overtime Friday night as the Minnesota Lynx rallied from a 25-point deficit and defeated the Atlanta Dream 97-93 in a rematch of last year's WNBA Finals.

Maya Moore scored 23 points to lead the Lynx (23-4) while McWilliams-Franklin added 15 points. Rebekkah Brunson had 15 points and 18 rebounds while Seimone Augustus added 14 as Minnesota completed its largest comeback victory in franchise history.

Angel McCoughtry scored 30 points to lead the Dream (15-14) while Lindsey Harding added 23. Atlanta has now lost eight straight to Minnesota, including a 3-0 sweep in the Finals a year ago.


SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Tamika Catchings had 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead Indiana.

Katie Douglas added 18 points, Briann January had 12 and Shavonte Zellous 11 for the Fever (18-9), who moved 1 1/2 games behind first-place Connecticut in the Eastern Conference.

Becky Hammon had 15 points to lead San Antonio (17-10), which lost its second straight at home after winning their previous nine at the AT&T Center. Shameka Christon, Sophia Young and Jia Perkins each had 13 points for the Silver Stars.

The Fever made all 15 of their free throw attempts in the final quarter to rally from a five-point deficit. The Silver Stars took only three free throws in the quarter, with Perkins missing the second of three after being fouled on a 3-point attempt.


NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Epiphanny Prince scored 30 points to help Chicago move one-half game ahead of New York for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Tamera Young added 19 points for the Sky (11-16). Courtney Vandersloot had 12 points and Swin Cash added 10 points and seven rebounds. Prince, who also had five rebounds, scored 30 for the fourth time in 19 games this season.

Cappie Pondexter scored 24 points on 7-for-19 shooting to lead the Liberty (11-17). Plenette Pierson had 15 points, Kara Braxton added 13 and Essence Carson.

The Sky led throughout. New York twice cut the deficit to three points, the last occurring with 4:04 remaining in the third after Pondexter's 3-pointer.


UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) - DeWanna Bonner had 35 points and seven rebounds to lead Phoenix Mercury past Eastern Conference-leading Connecticut.

Diana Taurasi scored 16 minutes in just 18 minutes, and Krystal Thomas had 16 rebounds - including seven on the offensive end- for the Mercury (7-20). Bonner shot 12 for 23 from the field, including 6 for 11 on 3-pointers.

Renee Montgomery had 25 points for Connecticut (20-8) and Tina Charles added 18.

Phoenix, which finished with a 45-21 rebounding edge, scored the game's first seven points and never trailed. The Mercury led 73-52 with more than 2 minutes left in the third quarter.


WASHINGTON (AP) - Candace Parker and Kristi Toliver scored 18 points each as Los Angeles snapped a three-game skid.

Former Mystics star Alana Beard added 16 points for the Sparks (20-9), who swept the two-game season series against Washington. Los Angeles, which has already clinched a playoff berth and remains in second place in the Western Conference, finishes its five-game road trip Sunday against New York.

Monique Curry scored 16 points for the Mystics (5-23), who lost their season-high seventh straight. Jasmine Thomas added 15.

The Sparks outrebounded the Mystics 39-29 and shot 62 percent from the floor (39 of 63) compared to the Mystics' 36 percent (25 of 69).
