Man charged in Texas A&M bomb threat

BRYAN, Texas (AP) - A man is charged with making a false bomb threat at Texas A&M and a female friend accused in a similar hoax at another university in the state is being investigated in both cases.

A&M police Lt. Allan Baron says Dereon Kelly and Brittany Henderson are in a relationship. He declined to elaborate.

Baron says Kelly was charged Monday with making a terroristic threat. Baron says Henderson is considered a person of interest and is under arrest. Bond for each is set at $150,000.

Police say Kelly emailed an Oct. 19 threat to A&M in College Station. He was arrested hours later on unrelated fraud charges.

Henderson was arrested last week in connection with an Oct. 18 bomb threat at Texas State University in San Marcos.
