Federal prosecutors to oversee any election issues in Mo.

ST. LOUIS (AP) - With less than a week to go before the election, an assistant U.S. attorney in St. Louis has been tasked with helping guard against fraud and voting rights abuses in eastern Missouri.

U.S. Attorney Richard Callahan says John Bodenhausen will serve as the district election officer for the Justice Department's Election Day Program next Tuesday. Bodenhausen will oversee all election-related complaints and coordinate with Justice Department headquarters in Washington.

The U.S. Attorney's office in Kansas City will handle the task for western Missouri.

The FBI will also have agents available in each field office to investigate allegations of wrongdoing related to the election.
