With its back to the wall, Jefferson City took the first step to getting its season back on track.

The Jays scored a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to keep their season alive with a 29-8 win against Fort Zumwalt West on Friday night at Adkins Stadium.

"This is a team that's (derailed) our season pretty much the last two years," Jefferson City coach Ted Le-Page said of Fort Zumwalt West. "So for us to come out and play the way we did tonight, I was really excited about the resolve our team showed all week."

The win moves Jefferson City into the district semifinals to take on top-seeded Francis Howell on Friday night in St. Charles.
