October 17th, 2012 in News

Official charges have been filed against a Jefferson City lawyer accused of bringing drugs into the Cole County Jail on Sunday. Court documents filed Tuesday show Thomas Robbins, 32, charged in two separate cases with attempting to deliver a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Information filed by Camden County Prosecutor Brian Keedy, named special prosecutor for these cases, shows Robbins possessed methamphetamine for the purpose of delivering it to an inmate at the jail.

He is also charged with possession of methamphetamine and amphetamine.

Special Judge Frank Conley has been appointed to preside over the cases.

All these charges are Class C felonies which carry a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.
