James Quinn, providing a valuable resource to farmers

A program to help Amish and Mennonite vegetable producers use less pesticides in their operations has led to national recognition for a horticulture specialist with the Cole County Extension Office.

James Quinn won the 2012 National Association of County Agriculture Achievement Award in part for this four-year project, which came to an end last month.

Quinn, who has worked in the horticulture field for 30 years, is based in Jefferson City and represents MU Extension in horticulture throughout central Missouri, including three counties - Audrain, Moniteau and Morgan - with numerous ....
