JC man found guilty in double fatality case

CAMDENTON - A Camden County jury Friday morning found Damien Bryan guilty of two counts of second-degree murder and one count of driving under the influence, after deliberating for about two hours.

Bryan, 42, Jefferson City, was convicted of killing Donald A. Edwards 58, Russellville, and Joan D. Hamilton, 75, Lenexa, Kan., in an Aug. 31, 2011, accident on Route C at the South Country Club Spur, near Jefferson City.

Because of previous driving while intoxicated convictions, he also was found to be an "aggravated offender," which could affect his final sentence.

A Cole County grand jury indicted Bryan last October.
