BRIDGETON, Mo. (AP) - Overseers of St. Louis' Lambert Airport are holding off on a plan to raise parking fees and various other sweeping charges to providers of ground transportation.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/WTauyE) reports the St. Louis Airport Authority on Wednesday postponed increasing the cost of parking in two public garages to $5 for the first two hours. That would be double what the rate now to park for the first eight hours, with the fee currently capped at $21 for any 24-hour period.
Other proposed fee hikes would have affected limousines, shuttles and taxicabs.
Airport director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge says the plan was put on hold to alleviate confusion among the would-be ratepayers. She says she hopes to bring the matter back before the airport authority by the end of the year.
