Urban deer hunting this past weekend resulted in more than 1,100 deer killed in 12 Missouri counties, 71 of which were in Cole County.
Jim Low, spokesman for the Missouri Department of Conservation, said the weekend's cool weather helped contribute to the large amount of deer killed in the urban hunt this year. The urban hunt ran from Friday through Monday.
