It wasn't the usual first-quarter hole that buried the Lincoln football team. This time it was a second-half meltdown that doomed the Blue Tigers on Saturday afternoon at Dwight T. Reed Stadium.
An early third-quarter touchdown got Lincoln within five points of the visiting Washburn Ichabods. The Blue Tigers held a 192-97 advantage in total yardage at that point, and easily led the first down and time of possession categories. Then it all went downhill.
The No. 20 team in the country decided to turn it on, scoring 35 of the next 42 points en route to a 51-18 victory over Lincoln.
