Osage Beach woman sentenced on meth charge

October 5th, 2012 in News

An Osage Beach woman and a couple from Windsor have been sentenced in federal court for their roles in a conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine in Pettis and Henry counties in Missouri.

Tara Lee Summers, 33, of Osage Beach, along with Nickey Joe Hargett, 39, and his wife, Shebil Marie Hargett, 33, of Windsor, were sentenced Wednesday in separate appearances before U.S. District Judge Nanette Laughrey.

Summers was sentenced to four years and four months in federal prison without parole.

Nickey Hargett was sentenced to 10 years and one month in federal prison without parole.

Shebil Hargett was sentenced to eight years and seven months in federal prison without parole.

From July 4, 2010, through July 12, 2011, Summers purchased or attempted to purchase more than 150 grams of pseudoephedrine from various pharmacies. Many of the attempted transactions were blocked because Summers had already purchased the maximum allowable quantity of pseudoephedrine within the 30 days preceding the attempted transaction.

These three are among 11 defendants who have pleaded guilty to charges contained in a July 28, 2011, federal indictment.
