Jefferson City Council debates noise ordinance

The Jefferson City Council is looking at a proposed new noise ordinance that some residents say would not help keep the peace.

At the council meeting Monday, the proposed noise ordinance was introduced, sparking several resident comments and council discussion. The ordinance would establish a measurable way of determining when a resident or business is in violation of the noise ordinance through decibel readings.
