Lady Jays come up short in loss to Lady Bulldogs

The Jefferson City Lady Jays and Rolla Lady Bulldogs are mirror images of each other.

Both teams like to push the ball up the floor on offense, press all over the floor on defense. In the end Monday night, a couple of scoring lulls proved costly for the Lady Jays, who dropped a 52-45 decision to the Lady Bulldogs at Fleming Fieldhouse.

"We just kept going back and forth at each other," Jefferson City coach Shane Meyer said. "Unfortunately for us, we just hit a stretch where we just couldn't score."

It looked like it was going to be a shootout at the start, with Jefferson City taking a 10-6 lead a little more than two minutes into the game. But the Lady Jays didn't score for the rest of the quarter and the Lady Bulldogs took a 12-10 advantage into the second period.
