A group of Missouri political and business leaders has joined the national "Fix the Debt" campaign.

Nationwide, "more than 300,000 business leaders, former and current elected officials, thought leaders and citizens concerned about the impending "fiscal cliff' and the $16 trillion national debt" have joined the campaign, said Rita Needham, chief executive officer of the Springfield-based Missouri Association of Manufacturers.

"Manufacturers all across the country are already feeling the effects of the nation's $16 trillion debt," she told reporters and supporters at a Capitol news conference Monday morning.
