Maura Pardoe, 9, California, takes a practice shot before Sunday's Elks 513 Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest at the Helias Catholic High School Fieldhouse on Sunday. Pardoe finished second in her age group as about a dozen kids competed for a chance to compete at the district level.
The Jefferson City Elks Lodge 513 Hoop Shoot took place on Sunday at Helias High School Fleming Fieldhouse.
The winner in each category will advance to the district competition in January. Those winners will go to the state competition in February. The national competition will be held in April.
