Mo. man accused of dragging woman with pickup truck

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - A Missouri woman is hospitalized with bleeding on the brain and other injuries after allegedly being dragged down a street with her arm stuck in the bed of her ex-boyfriend's truck.

The Southeast Missourian (http://bit.ly/Tx2qPF ) reports that 51-year-old Jerry Lee Dye of Oran is charged with felony assault. Police are searching for him.

Police say the woman was walking down a Cape Girardeau street texting when Dye approached in his pickup. He allegedly asked about the texts, didn't like the answer, and began attacking.

Dye allegedly took the cellphone and put it in a toolbox in the back of his truck. The victim tried to grab it and got caught in the bed rail. Police say Dye noticed and sped up, yelling obscenities at her as she was dragged.
