Former first lady to speak at College of the Ozarks

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. (AP) - Former first lady Laura Bush comes to southwest Missouri on Thursday to speak at College of the Ozarks and help dedicate a new high school on the Point Lookout campus.

The wife of former President George W. Bush speaks at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Howell W. Keeter Athletic Complex at the school's annual community convocation.

She is also scheduled to help the school open a new college preparatory program for students in grades 9-12.

The School of the Ozarks will use a Christian-based curriculum based on the Great Books. And like the college's students, the younger learners won't pay tuition but instead work on campus in exchange for a free education.
