Dawson, 7, and Christopher Earney, 10, get a firsthand view of the ballot and the voting process as they visited CC General Precinct at Southridge Baptist Church with their mother, Jodie Earney. After voting, the boys were dropped off at St. Peter School for the day.
Republicans won both races for the Cole County Commission on Tuesday.
For the Western District seat, Kris Scheperle defeated Democrat Len Stella, 13,199-4,977. Scheperle will take the place of current commissioner Chris Wrigley, who Scheperle defeated in the August primary.
For the Eastern District seat, incumbent Jeff Hoelscher defeated Democrat Ed Williams, 12,092-5,326.
