Your Opinion: Response to a request

Dear Editor:

President Obama is asking for help from the American people to be re-elected to the presidency of the United State of America. Part of the duties of being president is to be commander-in-chief. As the commander-inchief he is responsible for placing his people in harm's way and for providing them every tool to protect themselves from harm. He accepted the responsibility for the Benghazi attack in the second debate.

In his interview with a Denver television reporter President Obama said that he gave a directive to help our people in Benghazi. A directive is not an order.

President Obama is the commander-inchief. If he had given an order the military would have been obligated to follow that order to help our people and provide any military asset at our disposal to rescue Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans.

None were sent. His people in Benghazi asked for held three different times and the answer was request denied. Four Americans were killed in the attack.

Mr. President, the American people should answer your request for help to be re-elected with the same response - request denied.
