ST. LOUIS (AP) - Two more incidents involving lasers pointed at aircraft are under investigation in St. Louis.
KMOV-TV (http://bit.ly/JtM5aP ) reports that a green light filled the cockpit of a Delta flight as it approached Lambert Airport Monday night. The pilot reported that someone from the ground was pointing a laser.
A day earlier, a helicopter pilot reported a similar incident near Lambert.
Laser strikes can temporarily blind pilots. The FAA cited nearly 3,600 laser strikes last year, including 20 at or near Lambert.
A 30-year-old St. Charles man was accused last year of pointing a laser at aircraft from his yard. And in 2010, an O'Fallon man publicly apologized after pointing a laser at a law enforcement helicopter.
