It was a busy morning for the United Way of Central Missouri on Monday.

During a Monday morning news conference, the United Way of Central Missouri announced 14, one-time grant recipients, 2012 campaign co-chairs and a higher campaign goal than last year.

Lori Massman and Jake Green were named campaign co-chairs.

Warren Krech, chairman of the United Way board, said the "strong and involved leadership is essential to the campaign."

Green and Massman are both natives of Jefferson City and play a key role, Krech said, in the United Way campaigns their employers host.
