WARDSVILLE - Blair Oaks knew it would need to put the ball in play in order to have a chance at beating Mexico's Hunter Haynes. Unfortunately for the Falcons, the Bulldogs' left-hander had other ideas.

Haynes struck out 10 of the 21 batters he faced while allowing one hit over six innings to lead Mexico past Blair Oaks 8-0 in a Class 3 sectional Tuesday at the Falcon Athletic Complex.

"He threw a great game today," Blair Oaks coach Harv Antle said. "He was tough. His velocity stayed up, he was able to get us to fish for the changeup with two strikes on more than one occasion. He just did a good job controlling the strike zone."

While the final score suggests Blair Oaks was never in the game, it was quite the contrary.
