Windy Sprague chooses to shop where she lives, to know the money she spends goes back into her community.

Shopping at The Salvation Army Family Thrift Store on Michigan Street this week, Sprague learned that 89 cents from each dollar spent there goes directly to serve local folks in need.

That's the message of this week's The Salvation Army Week.

"I may come here more often, knowing it's that much," said Sprague, who shops at the army's store several times each month. "This store goes above and beyond to help its customers."
