Missouri River Regional Library (MRRL) recently received a grant that was used to purchase 36 new 19-inch LED, environmentally friendly, mercury-free EnergyStar computer monitors.
The process to received the grant was a long one, said Nikki Bateman, computer center supervisor/training coordinator for MRRL.
In January, she applied for the grant. Then in April, she began ordering and setting up the monitors. A survey was also developed for patrons to help gauge their reactions.
"We did an online survey when patrons logged onto the computers with the new monitors," Bateman said, noting that patrons said the monitors were "a wonderful improvement," "simply great" and "fantastic."
