Falcons get another one-run victory

FULTON - Blair Oaks has mastered the art of the one-run game, going 7-1 in such games during the regular season.

So when the Falcons turned a three-run, fourth-inning deficit into a one-run game later in the inning, they had North Callaway right where they wanted.

The Falcons went on to scratch across two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to come away with a 4-3 victory over the Thunderbirds in the Class 3 District 8 semifinals on Monday.

"I think the key to the game was the fact that we answered right back," Blair Oaks coach Harv Antle said. "After they got the 3-0 lead, we came right back and answered with two and that was huge. That put us in the ball game.

"Counting (Monday), we've played nine one-run games. Once we got back within one, our confidence soared."
