Fort Leonard Wood to host IED conference

FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (AP) - Soldiers from the U.S. and nine other countries are meeting this week at the Army's Fort Leonard Wood to talk about the evolving threat of improvised explosive devices.

Participants will talk about coping with IEDs in Afghanistan and the best strategies for addressing the threat.

Route clearance equipment used by U.S. forces also will be on display at Wednesday's meeting at the southern Missouri post.

The military personnel taking part in the conference are from Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Norway, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
