Man accused of sawing off cat's paw

CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - A St. Louis County man is facing felony animal abuse charges for allegedly sawing off his pet cat's paw.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/KhCdmv) reports that 33-year-old Avry Harris is accused of committing the crime sometime between May 2011 and January.

The Missouri Humane Society says Harris' cat, Trigger, had an injured paw and he sawed off the part that was injured.

Harris was arrested and later released. Neither he nor his attorney responded to messages seeking comment.
