TAOS, Mo. - The game was effectively decided after one inning, but that doesn't mean there wasn't plenty of intrigue left after that.

Tipton exploded for six runs in the top of the first inning at Countryside Park, and luckily for the Cardinals, that would be enough, as their production stalled soon after.

The Calvary-Tolton Lions, meanwhile, refused to give up after one bad inning and made things interesting before falling 6-3.

"I don't know if we settled back or what," Tipton coach Eric McNeal said.
