NWS: St. Louis' March heat is record-breaking

ST. LOUIS (AP) - This month's extraordinarily warm weather in St. Louis is officially record-breaking.

The National Weather Service says temperatures at the observation site at Lambert Airport have hit 80 degrees or higher nine times in March, breaking the record of eight 80-degree days in 1910.

The record-breaker came on Wednesday. Temperatures cooled Thursday, with highs in the 60s. Weather is expected to gradually warm into the 70s by early next week.
