Briggs & Stratton to cut 210 in Poplar Bluff

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (AP) - A big employer in southeast Missouri is cutting jobs.

KFVS-TV (http://bit.ly/GHxT2t ) reports that Briggs & Stratton Corp. will lay off about 210 employees effective April 12 at the plant in Poplar Bluff, where small engines for outdoor power equipment are made.

Milwaukee-based Briggs & Stratton cites decreased market demand, especially in Europe.
