Charleston wins school's 11th Class 3 boys hoops title

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Gregory Tucker made 15 free throws and scored 27 points as Charleston defeated Hogan Prep 79-73 in the Missouri Class 3 boys' state title on Saturday.

In a game that featured 11 lead changes and eight ties through three quarters, Charleston (31-2) went on a 14-2 run into the fourth quarter to take a 61-49 lead with 6:35 remaining.

The Blue Jays also benefited from being in the double bonus early in the fourth quarter, making 14 of 22 free throws in the final period to help seal the victory.

Michael Hull and Jamaul Gray both scored 14 points for Charleston, which won its 11th championship in school history and first since 2007.

Maurice Mason led Hogan Prep (20-11), which won the title last year, with 19 points.
