Jays open season today against Glendale

A large group of seniors can certainly be a commodity for a team ... until you have to replace them.

That's the challenge facing the Jefferson City High School baseball team as it attempts to replace three of its top pitchers from a year ago.

The Jays open their season at 1 p.m. today at Vivion Field against Springfield Glendale, with the goal being to gain experience on the mound.

But as Jays head coach Brian Ash said, less experience doesn't correlate to less quality.
