Cattle rustlers hit SW Mo. county

GREENFIELD, Mo. (AP) - A southwestern Missouri sheriff is asking the public's help in solving a case of cattle rustling and a second attempt that may be related.

Dade County Sheriff Steven Stapp tells KYTV (http://bit.ly/xBcuWj ) that some stole 21 head of cattle from a farm south of Arcola early Monday. Stapp says the thieves apparently used horses and feed to lure the cattle to a corral, then loaded them into a trailer.

Another Dade County resident with a pasture just north of Arcola found a fence cut and a lock missing from a gate on Wednesday. No cattle were missing in that case, but the sheriff says there's evidence at the two sites that links the crimes together.
