Sandra Plunkett, the Holts Summit woman charged with the Jan. 1, 2011, shooting death of her husband should soon have a trial date.
Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney Chris Wilson said Monday that Callaway County Circuit Court Judge Gary M. Oxenhandler ordered Wilson and Public Defender Justin Carver to send him "a three-to-five-day window in time to have a trial."
"It will probably be December of this year or January of next year depending on his schedule and the schedules of the attorneys," Wilson said.
Plunkett, 38, is accused of fatally shooting her husband, retired 52-year-old Jefferson City police officer Paul Plunkett.
Sandra Plunkett originally told police that she was outside her home when she saw a man in camouflage with a gun walking down the street. She said she entered the home and found her husband on the floor, shot in the back of the head.
Plunkett was arrested on Jan. 5, 2011, after confessing to the killing while being interrogated by police regarding her story of the circumstances surrounding her husband's death.
