Cole County Judge Dan Green recently sentenced a Jefferson City man to four years in prison for pleading guilty to second-degree arson and second-degree burglary after a fire Dec. 19 at 1018 E. Capitol Ave.
Alan B. Snell, 59, who used to live at the residence, was arrested after he "made incriminating statements to detectives in reference to the fire," Fire Department spokesman Jason Turner said.
That home was scheduled to be demolished after it also was the scene of a Nov. 19 fire that had been confined to a second-floor bedroom and was attributed to children playing with matches.
Judge Green also recently placed a Jefferson City man on five years supervised probation for pleading guilty to charges in connection with two burglaries that occurred in November.
According to court documents, Barry Tyler, 35, of 307 Jackson St., was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and two counts of property damage.
