Area athletes compete at NAIA Championships

GENEVA, Ohio - A pair of area competitors took part in the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships that wrapped up Saturday.

Central Methodist's Rebeca Barajas placed in a pair of events and competed in another in the event hosted by the Spire Institute.

The best result for Barajas (Southern Boone High School) came in the women's indoor pentathlon, where she finished sixth with 3,267 points. The winner finished with 3,861 points.

On the men's side, William Woods' Ryan Meyer (Linn High School) finished ninth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:56.72. The winning time in the event was 14:30.37.
