A Jefferson City man was treated for minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash caused traffic to back up on U.S. 50 and Missouri Boulevard early Friday morning.
According to police reports, the crash occurred at 6:26 a.m. in the 3200 block of U.S. 50.
A pickup truck driven by Paul Samson, 38, was going east in the passing lane and began to slide on the sleet-covered road.
The vehicle began to slide out of control and ran off the right side of the road, striking a guardrail.
The vehicle continued to slide down an embankment and rolled over, landing on the westbound lanes of Missouri Boulevard where it came to a stop.
Samson was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
Traffic was backed up in the area because of the crash.
The westbound lanes of Missouri Boulevard and one eastbound lane of U.S. 50 near the Corwin Honda dealership initially were blocked off. However, both eastbound lanes of U.S. 50 were reopened just before 7 a.m.
