Wearing a white spacesuit and helmet, she helped her team build a solar array in a neutra-buoyancy chair and install oxygen tanks in a space shuttle simulation.
And she graduated after six days in the astronaut's traditional blue jumpsuit.
That's space camp.
Melanie Thompson, a fifth-grade teacher at East Elementary School, was able to scratch that one off her "bucket list" when she was one of 86 educators selected from more than 1,000 applicants to attend the workshop in Huntsville, Ala.
