KIRKSVILLE, Mo. (AP) - Two Missouri museums are collaborating with the Springfield-Greene County Library District to create a digital archive of the state's World War I history.

The Museum of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville and the Missouri History Museum in St. Louis are participating in the project known as "Over There: Missouri and the Great War." The groups will use a state grant of nearly $48,000 to place documents, photographs, artifacts and other historical records into a single digital archive.

More than 156,000 Missourians served in the first world war, including Gen. John J. Pershing, future President Harry S. Truman and Walt Disney.
