Man gets 5 years for injuring infant girl

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - A southeast Missouri man has been ordered to spend five years in prison after he admitted injuring a 2-month-old girl.

The Southeast Missourian of Cape Girardeau (http://bit.ly/LPPfIR) reports that 20-year-old Jeromy McClanahand of Jackson pleaded guilty this week in Cape Girardeau County to first-degree child endangerment and was sentenced.

Jackson police say the child was taken to a hospital April 30 with a fever, and an exam showed she had a broken clavicle the doctor said was sustained the previous week.

The girl was the daughter of the woman with whom McClanahand had been living.

McClanahand last week pleaded guilty in Madison County to child abuse and child-endangerment charges and was sentenced to seven years in prison.
