For artist Jennifer Neff, the hands are more important than the eyes, even though the Bible (and some other sources) say the "eyes are the window to the soul."
She explained: "Really, what we leave this world when we go is what we did with our hands - whether it was helping somebody, or giving a hug or wiping away a tear."
Neff's showing a dozen of her works, along with 11 other Mid-Missouri artists, in the exhibition "Celebrate," scheduled through July 26 in Jefferson City at Capital Arts, 1203 Missouri Blvd. (in the old Parks and Recreation building).
