Whitehead elected MSBA vice president

Doug Whitehead, a member and former president of Jefferson City's School Board, this weekend was elected the Missouri School Boards Association's vice president.

"I think that we're going to do more in the next five years for public education than we've done in the last 50," Whitehead said Monday afternoon, "(with) a lot of change and a lot of opportunity.

"And this affords me the chance to see a lot of perspective and learn from all my peers, statewide, so that Jeff City can be more successful."

Whitehead is serving in his fourth three-year term on the Jefferson City board, and said his involvement with MSBA is "an opportunity for professional development for me to be better as a local board member."
