LU Curators OK budget

Lincoln University Curators approved a nearly $36 million operating budget for the state business year that begins July 1 - including a 2 percent pay raise for all permanent LU employees, both full- and part-time.

The seven curators meeting in Jefferson City spent the most time Thursday debating whether to undo a policy change approved just two months ago - and ultimately decided to do nothing.

That issue involved the board's April 19 vote to revise LU's tuition waiver policy, requiring for the first time that employees, their spouses and dependent children apply for financial aid, such as Pell Grants, before seeking the school's tuition costs waiver.
