Vigil planned for Mo. women missing for 20 years

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - A candlelight vigil has been scheduled in Springfield to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the unsolved disappearances of three women.

The Springfield News-Leader reports (http://sgfnow.co/JN4DTl) the vigil will begin at 6 a.m. Thursday at Phelps Grove Park.

The event marks the disappearances of 47-year-old Sherill Levitt, her daughter Suzanne Streeter and Streeter's friend Stacy McCall on June 7, 1992.

The three were reported missing from Levitt's home in Springfield the day after Streeter and McCall graduated from Kickapoo High School. Police said it appeared they had been abducted because they left behind purses, money, clothing and other items.

A $42,000 reward has been offered in the case.
